"My mum has been a great source of motivation in my life" - DJ Classic (Read FULL INTERVIEW here)

Speaking of Young and making it, DJ Classic is certainly an individual that comes to mind, here he sits down for a quick chat with DonYeniBeatz (CEO, OfofoNation Blog), shedding light on more important and trivia issues.

Yeni OfofoNation: Can you give us a little bit about yourself, Who is DJClassic?
 
DJ Classic: Wow, thanks for having me on this platform.I am DJ CLASSIC whose real names are FELIX TEMITOPE DAVID. The stage name "DJ CLASSIC" came up from me playing all genres of music,am not limited to a particular genre/style unlike many.


Yeni OfofoNation: Can you tell us about your family background?
DJ Classic: Have been brought up in a very cool family,loving and supporting one. My mum has been a great source of motivation in my life.

Yeni OfofoNation: When & Why did you decide to pursue a professional music career?
DJ Classic: I started my DJing career officially early 2013. My passion for music and my love to entertain people led me to be a DJ and also dancing has always been an expression of feeling good,and making people feel good is my main intention of DJing.

Yeni OfofoNation: Can you tell us about the track you recorded with Pepenazi, titled Shutdown? What prompted the collaboration?
DJ Classic: Listening to PEPENAZI singles back to back,he's a very talented artiste i must say. Got much love for his music,so i thought about dropping a single,Pepenazi was the first artiste that came to my mind, then i talked to him, and he came up with the banging hit titled "SHUT DOWN" produced by "HTEE".

Yeni OfofoNation: So, Are you currently signed to a record label?
DJ Classic: I'm still a freelance artiste



Yeni OfofoNation: Are you a Student or A Graduate?
DJ Classic: I'm a 300level student of Univeristy of ilorin.

Yeni OfofoNation: How did your parents & family feel about your decision to go into music professionally?
DJ Classic: At first it wasn't an easy thing,they all wanted me to quit and face my studies. But now,they no longer bother me. Like i said earlier my mum has been a great source of motivation in my life, her prayers keeps me moving.My family now respect and appreciate me for what i do.


Yeni OfofoNation: Whats it like in the Music Scene right now, and how are you adapting?
DJ Classic: Wow, the music scene right now especially in nigeria is really motivating and is actually getting bigger and better everyday.Nigeria artiste are really uping thier games right now,they have really taken the music scene to gain international recognition,its really mind blowing and i'm proud of
each and everyone of us.i'm really adapting,though my academics are kinda like a barrier right now,
but i'm trying my best.I'm gonna take the music industry by storm soon.I'm working with some artists

Yeni OfofoNation: Any Controversy so far?
DJ Classic: Hmmm so far, no controversy,God has been keeping everything cool.

Yeni OfofoNation: But What is it about DJ Classic you would want your fans out there to know?
DJ Classic: Hmmmm,Nothing really,am a cool guy,if you ever have the chance to attend any of my gig,am gonna give you some musical therapy,just keep supporting the brand "DJ CLASSIC".


Yeni OfofoNation: What are you working on right now. Can we expect an album or other compilation or music video in the near future?DJ Classic: I've got a lot of projects am working on, Yea you should be expecting more singles and mixtape, and also the video shoot for my latest single "SHUT DOWN" featuring Pepenazi.For the album, anything could happen anytime.


Yeni OfofoNation: Are you married or in any serious relationship?
DJ Classic: I'm not married neither am i in a relationship. So that simply means am single.Music is the only bae I've got.

Yeni OfofoNation: In your own words how do you define (your state) Music/Entertainment Industry?
DJ Classic: Music to me is anything with or without beat that's pleasing to my hearing.Any sound that makes sense and brings pleasure and good vibes when you listen to them is what i call music.The entertainment industry on the other hand is any platform people, mostly entertainers have to give pleasure,enjoyment andamuse the audience.

Yeni OfofoNation: Do you have a role model in the industry?
DJ Classic: Yea, my role models are DJ Spinall and DJ Jimmy jatt, Spinall is actually a source of inspiration to me, DJ jimmy jatt is like the father of DJing in Nigeria, he's legendry.
